Trans Actors Explain Why Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Rub & Tug’ Role Is Like A Slap In The Face

Scarlet Johansson

As usual, Scarlett Johansson is being criticized for a role in her new upcoming film “Rub and Tug”. She is playing the role of a trans man. The film is basically, based on the real-life story of a Trans man Dante “Tex” Gill.

She is facing heat from many Transactors for her role. They said her “Rub and Tug” is a slap on their faces. Previously, Johansson was being cast in ghost in a shell. She also faced a lot of criticism of that role as well.

Well, even after a massive Criticism, Scarlett Johansson and her team have not shown any responsibility towards it. They haven’t replied to any comment. The actress has toned herself to be deaf towards all criticism.

The main issue of transactors is, that cis actors can play their role, but why can’t trans actors play their roles? They are not even capable to enter cis actor’s room. Amin agenda of transactors is that how can cis actors justify their life? Without knowing about their life complications and miseries. And why trans actors cannot play a role of being what they are?

Trans parent’s Trace Lysette and Ian Harvie wrote heated comments on Johansson’s role.

Trace Lysette said:

“Oh, word?? So you can continue to play us but we can’t play Y’all? Hollywood is so fucked… I wouldn’t be as upset if I was getting in the same rooms as Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett for cis roles, but we know that’s not the case. A mess.”

“And not only do you play us and steal our narrative and our opportunity, but you pat yourselves on the back with trophies and accolades for mimicking what we have lived… so twisted. I’m so done…”

“What does CIS WHITE FEMALE PRIVILEGE look like?#ScarlettJohansson doesn’t feel the need to answer for herself-she redirects her public to other industry people who got it wrong but “won awards”. Is she also enough of an ass to assume that she will win an award, is that what she…” Ian Harvie wrote.

“Wen cis women play trans men you are reducing the existential experience of a trans man as playing dress up. Cis people cannot tell trans stories- don’t have the range. If they did, they would empathize with the reality of how problematic, dismissive and be fetishizing this is” IAM wrote.

Even after so many criticizing comments, Scarlett has not shown any response yet.
